Claiming that CAN is >off-topic on a.r.s. is about as rational as claiming that Croatia >has nothing to do with the troubles in Bosnia. CAN in general and Priscilla Coates (and her husband Dr. Ed Coates) specifically have helped me more than any other people in my life, except, perhaps my own parents. They are my very closest friends. They did not help me as a science project, to be used as CAN posterboy, or to shove their ideas down my throat. They did it because they met me and cared about my plight. I don't want to describe where I was at when I found CAN. It would give the scienos too much pleasure that I could have fallen so low. Many people in the streets never find the right hand to pull them out of their miserable, little, so-called lives. CAN assists in cult recovery and supplies information to people whose loved ones have become entangled in the Cult Phenomena. If you have looked into the writings on the subject of cults, thought reform and high demand groups, you will see that, while there are a few more academic or religion-based organizations who study or focus on cult and recovery, CAN is far and away the most grass-roots of these. It is CAN that is on the hot-line list of contacts for cult abuse in LA. CAN operates in the streets. The most vitriolic, lying spew attempting to discredit CAN comes, not from Tony Alamo, not from Lyndon LaRouch, not from the Aum cult, but from the slimos. Priscilla has herself been sued by them 30 or 40 times. Now, if they want to argue that CAN is a funded, conspiracy of the eViL psYch'S, let them. All the CAN people I've ever met seemed like decent, caring, intelligent folks who'd mostly been stung by losing a child or sibling to a cult. +--------------------------------------+ Rev.
