Studies: Lesbians make good parents

 WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Lesbian parents are raising children that are as 
emotionally healthy and well-adjusted as those raised by heterosexual parents, 
according to three new studies.

 The studies were presented at a meeting of the Society for Research on Child 
Development Thursday. Researchers said standard psychological tests found no 
significant differences between children of lesbian parents and those of 
heterosexual parents.

 The studies, conducted in the United States, Britain and the Netherlands and 
involving children up to age 9, were based on small samples and the lesbian 
couples studied often have volunteered for the research, which can affect the 
results.
